Ocu Support from NOW Foods contains a variety of ingredients that are meant to support healthy vision. It also contains vitamins, aiming to nourish the eyes and provide positive components that may be missing.
The first two ingredients – bilberry and lutein – are commonly seen in vision formulas. Bilberry – also known as huckleberry – has been linked to protecting and enhancing vision, especially night vision. There are certain elements in bilberries that may help treat high blood pressure, improve blood flow, and help out with normal brain function. Lutein is often found alongside bilberry because of its known ability to help detoxify the eyes and reduce some of the risk of developing certain age-related vision problems; macular degeneration and cataracts.
They have also included beta-carotene in their formula. This may help protect vision, with night vision being at the top of this list. It converts to Vitamin A and may provide excellent antioxidant benefits.
N-Acetyl-Cysteine is an amino acid that also has a few benefits. Some say it has been linked to preventing certain types of cancer and recurring bouts of bronchitis. Also, there are some eye conditions that this amino acid may help to curb. There are some side effects that have been linked to N-Acetyl-Cysteine, so users are directed to take care.
