Ocuvite Lutein & Zeaxanthin is a product from Bausch & Lomb that aims to nourish the eyes by providing nutrients and vitamins.
For vitamins, they have combined Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Vitamin C, as most people know, is linked to boosting the immune system. It is a super antioxidant that is found abundantly in different types of foods. There is collagen in our corneas, and Vitamin C may assist in helping in routine maintenance of this area. Humans are unable to create their own Vitamin C, so we must get it from outside sources. There are recent reports of Vitamin C helping to treat certain cancers, although most media outlets are not confirming this at the time of this review.
Like Vitamin C, Vitamin E is an heralded antioxidant that may give much-needed support to cell membranes all throughout our bodies. It may help prevent the onset of both cataracts and age-related macular degeneration. The AREDS study suggests that this may indeed be beneficial.
Zinc was a factor in this study, and it is well known that zinc can provide a number of benefits to the body. Aside from the AREDS study, zinc is known to be one of the most important minerals that we use. Countless prostate formulas for men include zinc, due to the fact that the prostate contains a large zinc deposit.
